Alain Swolfs is a prominent Belgian comic book artist and writer. He was born on June 19, 1958, in Sint-Truiden, Belgium. After studying graphic arts at the Institut Saint-Luc in Brussels, he began his career in the comic book industry in 1982. Swolfs' biggest success came in 1991 when he created the western-themed comic book series "Durango." The series, which follows the adventures of a wandering gunfighter in the Wild West, has since become a cult classic and has been translated into several languages.

Apart from "Durango," Swolfs has also created several other comic book series, including "Lonesome," "Black Hills," and "Legende." His unique style, which blends realistic imagery and detailed storytelling, has earned him a loyal readership and critical acclaim.
