Matt Carlson is a highly-skilled information security expert who has a wealth of experience working in corporate environments. He has studied IT and Administrative Management at Central Washington University, Information Assurance at Norwich University, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at the University of Maryland College Park. Currently, he is serving as Senior Manager for Security and IT Compliance at NW Natural, where he specializes in translating business needs to information security concerns and vice versa. Prior to his current position, Carlson held several other high-level roles, including Cybersecurity Track Chair at Western Energy Institute, Cyber Security Manager at NW Natural, and Chief Information Security Officer at Washington State Department of Social and Health Services.

Before transitioning to the corporate world, Carlson served in the U.S. Navy as LAN Admin/FT2(SS). He then went on to work at several organizations, such as Mutual of Enumclaw, SAIC, and Leidos, where he worked in various roles related to information security management and cybersecurity analysis.
