Derek Ellard is an accomplished sailing boat designer with a passion for solving the challenges of harnessing wind power efficiently. With over 300 boats designed and located in 10 countries, his expertise spans stability, safety, speed, space utilization, aesthetics, engineering, weight, cost, and production aspects.

His deep-rooted interest in business and creating impactful ventures led him to aspire to develop businesses that not only excel in their operations but also inspire, empower, educate, and bring joy to the world, all while maintaining environmental sustainability. Derek's current focus lies in designing a range of sailing cargo ships and solar electric catamarans for mass production under Go Sail Cargo.

Educationally, Derek Ellard studied Fine/Studio Arts at the Southend-On-Sea School of Arts and Crafts. Professionally, he holds the position of Director at Scruffie Marine Pty Ltd, a testament to his leadership and business acumen.
