The main role of the team is to build, maintain and update our product infrastructure in an automated and scalable fashion. We make sure that services are available, reliable and fault tolerant. We also ensure that the engineering teams can quickly deliver features for the business to grow.Here is a non exhaustive list of my achievements:* Implemented the product on-call rotation, including training for the developers.* Containerized services in order to have the entire stack running on Docker/ECS.* Moved all the logs from ELK to Datadog.* Deployed a CI/CD pipeline to automate deployments and run devops tasks.* Worked on a data pipeline to visualize metrics in a “real time” manner.* Worked on a data analytics pipeline based on SPARK (EMR).* Led the vulnerabilities management automation program at the product scale.From a management point of view I’m responsible for the well being of the team, to ease communications with external stakeholders, to manage the team time off, compensations and career paths.

I have built a new infrastructure from scratch using technologies I’m familiar with and migrated services to this new stack. I used Chef and Terraform for deployment and configuration automation, Consul for service discovery, Zookeeper and Kafka as distributed queue and Postgresql as relational database. Applications were deployed as Docker containers and Gitlab was used for continuous integration and delivery. I built a metrics and logs pipeline with Rsyslog, Telegraf, Kafka, Logstash, Elasticsearch, Kibana and Grafana in order to monitor the infrastructure and centralize logs. Later I added Sensu in order to send alerts.I led the frontend team to rewrite the user interface of the distribution platform. We moved from a monolithic java application using Angular to a React.js - Redux single page application.I contributed to develop the backend in Elixir which was splitted in microservices. More specifically I developed an API accepting metrics that were pushed into Kafka, another application reading from Kafka and writing statistics to Postgresql. And  a distributed job scheduler for the new encoding farm.

Lead Software Engineer

Datadog provides a tool to monitor IT infrastructures: this tool receives metrics from customers’ infrastructures and allows them to visualize and monitor what is happening. My day to day job is to maintain and improve services needed to process a large amount of data. The technologies I use include Kafka and Postgresql as reliable databases, Chef for system configuration and deployment, and Consul for service discovery. I also deploy frontend applications and backend processes written in Python and Go. My daily tasks also include development of internal tools aimed at dev and ops efficiency. Among the list are, an API written in Go and a web interface for Sysadmins built with React.js and Redux.

My main goal was to connect embedded platforms to this Cloud and make them interact with each other.I worked on multiple boards like the Raspberry Pi or the Beaglebone Black to create small memoryfootprint applications able to connect to the remote MQTT platform.

Implemented ontology algorithms into the project back-end in order to transform abstract text into understandable graphs for a computer. Developed project front-end in HTML and Javascript (d3.js and AJAX) to show, manage and compare ontologies.

Research Assistant

Compiled specific Linux kernel and built embedded operation systems for Snowball boards, Pandaboards and I.MX51. Built a network platform in order to provide a virtualized test environment on Debian operating system based on the Linux Container tool.
