In deze periode heb ik mijn militaire dienstplicht mogen vervullen als Sergeant bij de Verbindingsdienst in Ede. Ik heb een officiersopleiding gevolgd bij de ROEK, ook in Ede. Ik was als Sergeant verantwoordelijk voor een aantal soldaten en korporaals die werkzaam waren op een zogenaamd MAP-voertuig. Het MAP-voertuig fungeerde als technisch knooppunt voor een aantal straalzenders. Ik heb in deze periode - voorafgaand aan mijn studie Bedrijfseconomie - veel managementvaardigheden en mensenkennis opgedaan en ook veel geleerd op gebied van telecommunicatie.
