Florence Chung is a veteran community engagement strategist in the public safety industry. With more than two decades of experience at the intersection of law enforcement and community organizing, Chung has provided consultation services for corporations, nonprofits, law enforcement agencies, and communities across America. She is also the Founder of Engage Public Safety, a nonprofit organization that creates opportunities for people to engage in creating safer communities. Chung holds a BA in Psychology & Education from the University of California, Los Angeles, and an MSW in Community Organizing, Planning & Administration from the University of Southern California.
Throughout her career, Chung has been a driving force in launching multiple public/private partnership initiatives between law enforcement agencies and the private sector. She's management several public safety-related initiatives as part of a corporate social responsibility initiative for Fortune 50 companies. She's also served as a board member for several prestigious organizations, including the Los Angeles Police Foundation and trustee of the New York City Police Foundation. Chung has also been appointed by the Mayor of Los Angeles as a City Commissioner in recognition of her expertise.
Chung's expertise lies in community engagement strategies, public/private partnership initiatives, corporate social responsibility, stakeholder engagement, law enforcement relations, community outreach, and nonprofits.
