John Becvar is a TEFL certified business English teacher with over 30 years of global experience in various fields, including finance, revenue management, strategic planning, marketing, legal, procurement, operations, and human resources. He holds an MBA in finance and accounting from Vanderbilt University - Owen Graduate School of Management and a B.S. in International Finance (summa cum laude) from Illinois State University. John leverages his extensive background to create personalized and custom classes to help Spanish, French, and Italian speakers improve their English for working with multinational corporations in the USA. He is dedicated to helping his students achieve their goals by providing reading, listening, and writing exercises, as well as lots of conversation practice. In addition to his teaching job, John has held various leadership positions in a range of organizations, including VP Finance and Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) at Groupon, Sr Director of Global HR Operations, Sr Director of Head of EMEA HR (and APAC HR), and Sr Director of Special Projects Legal Department. He has also been a lecturer in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) at Loyola University Chicago, Director of Partnership Development at Rewards Network, Principal Manager of UAL Loyalty Services at United Airlines, and Product Manager at Citi.
