James Gottry
James Gottry is an accomplished attorney and published author with a diverse background in public relations, marketing, messaging, and thought leadership. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Relations from Northern Arizona University and a law degree from Vanderbilt University Law School.
With more than two decades of experience in public relations and advocacy communication, James has demonstrated an intuitive and curious personality, always looking to learn and apply new skills to achieve his clients' objectives. He provides persuasive advocacy and strategic communication services and has been quoted and interviewed by major media outlets such as MSNBC, Fox News, and NPR.
James is currently serving as the Vice President of Public Policy at Dr. James Dobson Family Institute. Before that, he worked as the Director of Marketing, Legal Counsel at Alliance Defending Freedom, where he led marketing efforts for their legal services department. He has also worked as an attorney at Snell & Wilmer and as a Judicial Law Clerk for Judge John M. Roll at the U.S. District Courts.
Combining his legal expertise with his marketing and communication skills, James is a creative problem solver and relationship builder. He is comfortable working cross-team, negotiating conflicts, reacting quickly to changing circumstances, and distilling complicated issues into key principles.
