Cindy Shih
Cindy Shih is a multi-talented artist, designer, and educator whose passion for creating thought-provoking images has led her to explore a range of fields, from speech therapy and child development to painting and graphic design. She studied Communication Disorders at the University of Oregon and later earned an MS in Speech and Hearing Sciences at the University of Arizona. Along the way, she honed her skills as a painter and illustrator, blending her expertise in language and communication with her creative talents to produce compelling works of art.
After graduation, Cindy worked as a speech-language pathologist at the Rehabilitation Hospital of the Pacific, helping patients of all ages overcome speech and hearing challenges. She later became a child development specialist at Kapiolani Medical Center and the Hawaii Family Stress Center, where she provided support and guidance to families in need.
Throughout her career, Cindy has also pursued her passion for graphic design and illustration, founding Cindy Lee Shih Productions and co-owning Howzit?, two firms that specialize in creating engaging visual content for a variety of clients. Her work has been praised for its whimsical style, innovative use of color, and ability to spark conversations about important social issues.
Today, Cindy is retired from her design work and focuses on her love of painting, which serves as a continued source of creative inspiration.
