Joel Cochran is an accomplished software developer, author, and presenter with a diverse range of skills and experience. He currently serves as the Chief Technology Officer at Causeway Solutions, where he specializes in solving big data problems using Microsoft Azure. Before joining Causeway, Joel was a Technical Evangelist for Microsoft, where he honed his expertise in C# and Azure services. He has also worked in various other roles, including Lead Developer at Wintellect, Manager Consultant at Sogeti, and Director of Operations at Stonewall Technologies.

Joel's career began in 1997 on IBM's AS/400 platform, but in the early 2000s, he learned Java and Object-Oriented Programming before making the switch to C# and .NET. He has specialized in WinForms and WPF and has a wide variety of web development experience using technologies like KnockoutJS, Angular, Web API, and Bootstrap.

Joel is also the author of "Expression Blend in Action: A Developer's Guide" and is a 6-time Microsoft MVP and an ASPInsider. He is a Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist in Windows Forms and WPF and has also studied Juris Master in American/U.S. Law/Legal Studies/Jurisprudence.
