Tony Rost

Tony Rost, a tech leader and CTO at Metal Toad, has built his career on people-first empirical methods to enhance all stages of an experience. With a B.A. in Civic Leadership and Communication, Summa Cum Laude from Portland State University, Tony has served in several leadership roles in multiple organizations. He is a former Board member of the Oregon Workforce and Talent Development Board, the Portland Business Alliance, and Metal Toad. Besides, he has served as a communications director, UNIX/MPE Systems Administrator, and program manager at McAfee. Tony has successfully shipped several digital products over the past 20 years, including predictive analytics platforms, rich consumer apps, and entertainment industry properties with brands like DC Comics, Adidas, and PBS. His leadership principles, including hiring adults and treating them as such, investing in focus, and prioritizing people over process, have driven his success. Tony believes open-source solutions are the key to any tech leadership problem, and he strives to solve them with empowered people, sound data, strong process, and adventurous team.
