I manage a portfolio of Irish food companies (both SME and large) in the Prepared Consumer Foods category, assisting them with both their employment-creation and export-growth strategies from development through to funding and implementation.

I was responsible for managing part of the EI equity investment portfolio consisting of shareholdings in over 1,400 companies. This involved managing both the commercial and legal treatment of follow-on funding rounds, company restructurings and trade sales/exits.

I was responsible for conducting due diligence on funding proposals (equity and grants) for EI clients from start-ups to large companies. This involved in-depth strategic and financial reviews to clearly identify strengths and risks prior to presentation to the relevant committee/EI Board.

I worked with some of Ireland’s top researchers in the ICT sector to support them in both sourcing funding for and commercialising their research project work. This was achieved by collaborating with university Technology Transfer Offices to either licence the resulting intellectual property to third parties or by spinning out a new start-up company.
