Samiul Amin is a highly experienced chemical engineer with over 20 years of industry experience across multiple global multinationals such as ExxonMobil, Unilever, L’Oreal and Malvern Instruments. He is currently serving as an Associate Professor of Chemical Engineering at Manhattan College, leading the Cosmetic Engineering focus area. His expertise is in colloids & complex fluids, rheology, tribology, advanced characterization and formulation design of consumer, personal care, homecare and biopharmaceutical products. He has received his PhD in Chemical Engineering from North Carolina State University, his MS in Chemical Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University, and his BS in Chemical Engineering from Rutgers University. His current research is focused on formulation design and performance optimization of consumer, cosmetic, biopharmaceutical and homecare products through utilization of novel sustainable materials and surfactant chemistries. Prof.Amin has previously held appointments as an Adjunct Associate Professor at the Long Island University, School of Pharmacy and a Company Owner and Consultant at Complex Fluid LLC. He has chaired numerous international conferences in the cosmetics, biopharmaceuticals and complex fluids/soft matter areas in Europe and the US. He is currently serving as a section editor for Current Opinion in Colloid and Interface Science-Formulations and Cosmetics section.
