* Storefront rewrite for performance (up to 10x faster) and architect for longevity, cache-friendliness, and multi-region. Ran ~85% traffic for BFCM a year and a half later. (Ruby, MySQL, Nginx, Lua)
* MySQL patches to make queries return their resource usage (for throttling, shard balancing, load shedding, etc.), paving the way for a Shopify-custom MySQL build (C++, C)
* Shipped a platform for real-time and collaborative features (see who else is editing products, etc.) (Go, TypeScript, React, Nginx)

Leading efforts at the heart of the infrastructure at Shopify.

* Job Patterns. Evolves the asynchronous infrastructure of Shopify to process jobs, migrations, and more. (Ruby, Rails, Redis)
* Capacity. Auto-scaling, load-shedding, and capacity planning. (Go, Lua, Nginx)
* Pods. Responsible for the application-level sharding and architecture, failovers between data-centers, balancing shops between shards, and tenant isolation. (Rails, ProxySQL, MySQL, Memcached, Redis, Nginx)
* Resiliency Engineering. Pushing for reliability by limiting the blast radius of regional failures, between tenants, and downstream services. (Semian, Toxiproxy, Ruby)
