Somair Malik is an accomplished medical professional with a diverse background in healthcare administration, critical care, business development, and outreach. He studied at Rutgers University-New Brunswick, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Biological Mathematics, Economics, and Mathematics. Subsequently, he enrolled at Emory University - Goizueta Business School, where he acquired a Master of Business Administration (MBA), Health/Health Care Administration/Management. He also received a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

Currently, Malik works as an Emergency Medicine Resident at Stony Brook Medicine, where he provides quality care to patients in high-stress, high-risk situations. Prior to this, he served as a Pre-Residency Fellow in Critical Care at The University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center, where he fine-tuned his clinical skills.

In addition, Malik has worked in business development as an MBA intern with Bioscape Digital, supporting sales and marketing efforts. He has also lent his expertise to Coca-Cola FEMSA as a Management Practice and Marketing Consultant, among other roles.

Malik has dedicated his time and skills to community outreach, having served as the Outreach Coordinator at H.I.P.H.O.P - Homeless & Indigent Population Health Outreach Project, where he was responsible for coordinating a team of healthcare providers and volunteers to provide care to underserved populations.

He is a published researcher, having worked in epidemiology research at Rutgers Department of Ecology, Evolution, and Natural Resources, and as a Project Researcher at DIMACS - The Center for Discrete Mathematics and Theoretical Computer Science. Malik has also held various roles in academic support, having served as the Mathematics Coordinator at O.D.A.S.I.S - Office of Diversity and Academic Success in the Sciences.
