Joe Shields is an accomplished EMMY-award winning filmmaker with extensive experience in digital health, strategy, design, and technology. His unique skill set and expertise have garnered him a reputation as a sought-after professional in the fields of global marketing, new product development, digital transformation, strategic planning, and enterprise innovation. He has worked with Fortune 100 companies in diverse sectors such as specialty chemicals, telecommunications, biopharmaceuticals, medical devices, and diagnostics.

Currently serving as the President and Co-founder of HEALTH ACCELERATORS, Joe Shields has led biopharma's core communications consultancy that helps clients solve strategic business, brand, and communications problems. He has also served on the board of directors at the DIGITAL HEALTH COALITION, a nonprofit organization that enables advocacy, research, professional development, and continuing education for marketers of healthcare products and services.

Joe has previously held significant roles in well-known corporations such as ASTRAZENECA PHARMACEUTICALS, LIFESCAN (a Johnson and Johnson company), PFIZER, ASTRA MERCK, QWEST COMMUNICATIONS, and ROHM AND HAAS COMPANY (now DOW CHEMICAL). At ASTRAZENECA PHARMACEUTICALS, Joe designed and directed the global innovation process and led digital strategy and connected patient services for the global Respiratory portfolio. At LIFESCAN, he managed global marketing and charted the course for new digital product development for diabetes monitoring and management. At PFIZER, he created the company’s approach, partner strategy, and engagement plan for its Connected Health platform.

Joe is a Temple University alumnus who earned his MBA from the Pennsylvania State University, and his passion for photography is reflected in his portrait, wildlife, and landscape photography, which has been published in several books and national magazines.
