Miriam Altman is an accomplished social entrepreneur and former high school history teacher from New York City. She is the CEO and co-founder of Kinvolved, a successful social enterprise that helps to increase student attendance in schools. Altman's extensive experience in strategic planning, fundraising, sales, business development, and investor relations has enabled her to build strong partnerships and win many awards from reputable organizations such as Teach For America, New York University, and the University of Pennsylvania. Her contributions to the education sector have been recognized by Forbes 30 Under 30 and the Jo Ivey Boufford Award for Innovative Solutions to Public Service Challenges by New York University.
During her career, Altman has also served as an adjunct faculty member at NYU Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service and worked in multiple departments at various organizations, including ABC Television, Teach For America, and the Community Reinvestment Fund. She has mentored students and aspiring entrepreneurs at Brown University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Independent Concentration: Media and Society with Honors. Altman also holds a Master of Public Administration from NYU and a Master of Arts in Education from Lehman College.
