I was a consultant to clients including the Victorian Government’s Department of Business and Innovation where I led a team that delivered services for the Government's mobile business mentoring program, at the Department of Human Services where I managed a project to improve stakeholder engagement with representatives from the public housing sector, and at Slater and Gordon Lawyers where I oversaw communications for a number of customer experience (CX) improvements. I developed and implemented a volunteer, member and staff engagement strategy for Red Cross nationally, resulting in an increase of support for their new direction. Subsequently, I created and managed an internal communications unit that oversaw communications to more than 80,000 Red Cross staff, volunteers and members. I also managed stakeholder engagement activities, including information sessions held between Red Cross leaders and staff.

I managed change communications for a project at ANZ Bank, resulting in a successful office relocation of more than 500 bank traders. I also consulted to AXA Australia as part of a restructure, and ran change communication workshops at several change management conferences. (fixed-term contracts)

I provided marketing communications and project management advice to Asia- and Pacific-based senior trade commissioners and teams. I also led media issues management planning and responses for this region. My results included successfully managing media coverage in relation to the Boxing Day Tsunami; securing coverage in major media outlets — including the Australian Financial Review and Herald Sun — and business websites, at least one of which led to a multi-million-dollar export deal; and project managing a 35-senior person business delegation visit to Indonesia comprising high-profile businesses, including Qantas, Santos, and Rio Tinto.

I managed a change communications project for Caltex Australia, leading a team to create a campaign that informed Caltex sales people of the benefits of a new sub-brand. The work included creating a train-the-trainer workshop curriculum, developing a brand key message pack for sales teams, devising a game show ‘experience’, and commissioning a 5-minute video that reinforced the key messages. The outcome was a highly committed and educated salesforce across the network, leading to 30% higher sales than projected during the brand's launch period. (fixed-term contract)

As a senior consultant at this leading PR agency, I managed client accounts including Nestle and Nestle Ice Cream. My outcomes included providing PR and media relations advice to Nestle’s CEO, managing media risks and issues, securing coverage on TV, radio and print, and organising media conferences, press interviews and media briefings.

My role was to write emergency briefs, media releases and IFRC blog posts after reporting from Red Cross societies in Asia-Pacific and by visiting Red Cross societies in Australia, Cambodia, China, Indonesia and Malaysia. I also generated media coverage in Reuters, Hello! magazine and other media outlets, published and edited a quarterly print magazine, and led workshops on emergency communications for Red Cross leaders. I led a team of three staff writers at PR agency MDK Consultants, providing media releases, CEO speeches and other written PR content for such clients as Rolls-Royce, GlaxoSmithKline, and HBO. I oversaw the production of press releases, speeches, and press conference kits. I also worked directly with international media journalists, generating high-profile coverage for clients in a range of media including the Financial Times, Associated Press, Reuters, and CNBC TV.
