Alex Cruz, a seasoned aviation expert with over two decades of experience in the industry, has held top leadership positions in some of the world's largest airlines. Cruz began his career at American Airlines in Dallas and later London where he worked in varied managerial roles. He later served as Accenture's partner leading Europe's aviation practice, where he steered the creation and formation of Clickair, Europe's fastest-growing airline. In 2006, Cruz became Clickair's founding CEO, driving the airline through a rapid growth cycle before eventually merging it with Vueling. As Vueling's CEO, Cruz helped transform the company into one of Europe's most flourishing low-cost carriers.

In April 2016, Alex joined British Airways, one of the world's largest airlines, as Chairman and CEO. Cruz's impressive record of leading airlines through periods of remarkable growth was evident throughout his tenure at the airline. He also sits on the board of directors and advises tech companies, including Sherpa.ai, Fetcherr, and Caravelo.

Alex, an industrial engineer by training, holds a Masters of Science degree from The Ohio State University, where he specialized in e-business applications for small and medium-sized enterprises. He is also an alumnus of the Executive Education Program at Southern Methodist University - Cox School of Business, where he studied business administration and management. Additionally, he serves as an associate professor at IESE Business School, where he teaches at the Advanced Management Programme.
