In Texas, School Empowerment Network partners with the Texas Education Agency and school districts to support entrepreneurial, local leaders to design and launch innovative, equitable, district-managed schools for historically marginalized students. Our team leads the one-year New School Design Fellowship that supports sitting leaders to create new school models to support the achievement of their students and provides two years of continuation coaching to ensure each new school starts strong!

Citizen Schools operates a national network of apprenticeship programs for middle school students, connecting adult volunteers to young people in hands-on learning projects after school. At Citizen Schools, students develop the academic and leadership skills they need to do well in school, get into college, and become leaders in their careers and in their communities.We run our programs at 44 locations in seven states, serving an estimated 4,500 students and engaging approximately 3,200 volunteers. But we aim for even larger impact. Our program is a model of how out-of-school time can be a powerful opportunity to re-imagine learning, bring communities together, and increase access to the American Dream. Through unique volunteer engagement, staffing strategies, program models, and advocacy, Citizen Schools is at the forefront of a movement to transform education.

Communities In Schools is Central Texas' leading dropout prevention program.Through campus-based programs and special projects, Communities In Schools creates a network of volunteers, social services, businesses, and community resources that work together to break down barriers and help students succeed. And the formula works: last year, 99% of the students referred to Communities In Schools stayed in school.

AmeriCorps NCCC (National Civilian Community Corps) is a full-time, team-based residential program for men and women age 18–24. Members live on one of four campuses, located in Denver, Colorado; Sacramento, California; Perry Point, Maryland; and Vinton, Iowa.The mission of AmeriCorps NCCC is to strengthen communities and develop leaders through direct, team-based national and community service. In partnership with nonprofit organizations, state and local agencies, and faith-based and other community organizations, members complete service projects throughout the region they are assigned.Drawn from the successful models of the Civilian Conservation Corps of the 1930s and the U.S. military, AmeriCorps NCCC is built on the belief that civic responsibility is an inherent duty of all citizens and that national service programs work effectively with local communities to address pressing needs.
