Founder and coach of a rookie and advanced team of 6th - 8th graders participating at the FLL (First Lego League) Competition which brings together kids ages 9-14 and has them design, build and program robots that can solve challenges on a thematic playing surface.  As part of this competition students are also challenged to find innovative solutions to real-world problems facing our planet.  Past challenges have been based on topics such as nanotechnology, climate change, quality of life for the handicapped population, transportation, and biomedical engineering.Team Awards: - Champions/Director's Award-- 1st Place ('06 & '09), 3rd Place ('07)- Robot Design--1st Place ('09)- Robot Performance--1st Place ('08)- Research Award-- 2nd Place ('10)- Teamwork Award-- 1st Place ('06 & '07)- Team was chosen to represent the US at an international FLL competition in Tokyo, Japan.

- 5th & 6th Grade Science Teacher & Curriculum Developer-   Chaperoned yearly three day overnight trips to nature education centers with the entire 5th & 6th graders to Greenkill and Ashokan in upstate New York -   Chaperoned 8th grade week long language trips to Mexico (2003), Spain (2006) and France (2007) with 20 eight graders.

Program serving 70 kids from low-income housing developments in the South End of Boston.- Recruited, hired, trained, and managed 17 paid staff members from high school and college.- Designed overall academic goals for the curriculum.- Planned educational and recreational field trips, including a three-day final trip to Maine.- Developed a budget for the camp, created several funding proposals, and wrote a final report.- Strengthened community and parent relations.
