I wanted to sharpen my directing skills for one-hour television episodic series and based on my feature film directing work I was selected to participate in this prestigious TV director development program— a nine-months program shadowing and being mentored by some of Hollywood’s most popular and talented network television directors.

I was one of the ten writer/producers selected to participate in this prestigious program focusing on feature film and network television development. The selected entry was an original TV pilot I wrote entitled “The Controllers.” The ten week program focused on further developing the project from a producing perspective to include packaging, budget, scheduling and developing various pitches tailored for specific networks.

Sony optioned my life rights (relating to my undercover work for the U.S. Department of Defense) to develop “The Operative” in conjunction with Fox and Apostle Pictures. Fox ordered a script for this based-on-true-events undercover story. Developed and worked with the writer, John Romano, Sony’s TV development VP John Westphal and Executive Producers Jim Serpico and Todd Feldman on story and character development.

Worked with host and executive producer to develop, write and produce several seasons of “On Screen,” a Chicago-Emmy-Nominated and nationally syndicated TV show. Collaborated with the creator of the show and executive producers in developing the concept, supervised the research of guests and wrote the introductions, wraps, throws, questions and other show content. Supervised the physical production; scheduled crew, secured equipment and worked with publicists on booking guests. This half hour format talk show featured film and television stars and personalities. The show was produced in Los Angeles at the Sony lot, Culver Studios and The Lot in West Hollywood. Some of the featured guests were: Eric Close, Kirk Cameron, Catherine Hicks, James Avery, Charlene Tilton, Mel Harris, Producer - Ralph Winters, Dom DeLuise, Chris Mulkey, Judge Reinhold and Danny Trejo among many others.

Worked with the show's host and executive producer to produce “Total Living with Jerry Rose,” for a nationally syndicated Chicago based television network. Researched guest background and wrote the questions for the host of the show. Supervised the physical production, scheduled crew, sound stage and equipment. This half hour format talk show featured film and television stars and personalities. Shot at the Sony lot in Culver City, CA.
