Melissa Higgins is an accomplished educator who has contributed meaningfully to different educational organizations throughout the years. She holds a Master's degree in Special Education from San Francisco State University and a Bachelor's degree in International Studies-Literature from UC San Diego. Her experience in the education sector spans across various roles, including special education coach, learning specialist, and education specialist, among others. Melissa is also a former board member of Bay Area Wilderness Training and Pathway to Teaching Committee Member, Instructor, and Instructional Designer. Before her pursuit of a career in education, Melissa co-founded Youth for Fitness and Education, a non-profit organization that promotes fitness and education among low-income youth.

Melissa shows a deep-seated passion for serving the community, especially in the areas of education and personal development. She brings to the table skills like instructional design, curriculum development, teaching and mentoring, among others.
