Dan Barnes is a highly accomplished freelance journalist with a vast range of experience covering trading, investment, banking and technology since the early 2000s. He has received multiple awards for his work, which includes written and televisual journalism, as well as radio hosting.

In 2014, Barnes co-founded The DESK, a magazine that focuses on bond traders with Ian Rycott and Scott Galvin. He later went on to found TRADER TV LTD, a monthly insight into trading for professional investors, with Hamish McArthur in 2017. Barnes has also hosted events as a contributing editor for the FT Group and Euromoney.

Barnes specializes in primary and secondary capital markets across all geographies and instruments. He is versed in discussing various topics, including big data technology in wholesale banking and retail mobile payment systems.
