Robert Freishtat, MD, MPH, is a renowned pediatrician and emergency medicine expert with more than two decades of experience. He is currently a Senior Investigator at the Center for Genetic Medicine of the Children’s Research Institute and serves as the Chief of the Division of Emergency Medicine at Children’s National Health System in Washington, DC. Dr. Freishtat is also a tenured Professor of Pediatrics, Emergency Medicine, and Genomics and Precision Medicine at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences.

Dr. Freishtat received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine and completed his Master of Public Health in Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the George Washington University School of Public Health and Health Services. He completed his residency training and clinical fellowship in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Children’s National Medical Center.

Dr. Freishtat’s research primarily focuses on injury/repair in the lung and systems biology investigations in obesity. He has authored or co-authored over 100 articles and book chapters related to asthma, emergency medicine, lung injury, exosomes, and obesity. Additionally, Dr. Freishtat is a co-founder and Chief Scientific Officer of Adipomics, Inc.
