City Innovate is an accelerator founded by the first Chief Innovation Officer of SF in collaboration with the now California Governor Gavin Newson.Managed Technology Advisory Board comprised of high-level decision-makers at Accela, Citi Ventures, Cubic, Esri, Google, Mexichem, Microsoft, Oracle, Panasonic, and Visa around growth strategies in the public sector alongside startups and small businesses.  Negotiated with city attorneys and corporate counsel to innovate upon the public procurement process to maintain growth of 340% over last two years.

Researched and wrote, in collaboration with Miami-Dade County's Department of Transportation and Public Works, Microsoft, Passport, UC Davis, etc., the playbook for cities to implement integrated payments for multimodal transit to increase social access.  This playbook closed Miami-Dade County, and helped to close the Metropolitan Transportation Commission, as clients of City Innovate's Mobility Track.

Policy Consultant

Lobbied lawmakers in the Alabama State House and at caucus dinners to withdraw funds from prisons and inject them into schools. Analyzed issues of constitutional and administrative law and policy for successful settlements of high-profile cases. Managed attorneys and interfaced with judges at the highest-deporting detention center in the Deep South to develop efforts to provide legal representation to all detained southeast Americans.

Advised sales, marketing, strategy, and engineering teams at a tech startup just months preacquisition by Ericsson through growth period backed by the most significant investment to date in scaling Platform as a Service technology. Advised CMO and COO to balance trademark infringement risks with business opportunity during threat of litigation. Wrote and organized working encyclopedia of all legal issues and public policy implications in hybrid cloud anticipated to impact the company in the next two years. Drafted contractor agreements, sales agreements, renewal contracts, and internal policy directives for immediate use.

Wrote memorandum synthesizing the law on juvenile court fees to predict judges’ reasoning and holdings that helped East Bay children’s rights advocates bring about a moratorium on juvenile fees that was the first of its kind in California.  Reduced client’s court fees in a bench trial that was the first such representation in Alameda County.  Briefed for and argued at an expulsion hearing of a zero-tolerance case that went to trial.

Calculated the financials and interpreted the operating patterns of multinational companies competing for billion-dollar contracts to evaluate whistleblowers’ claims of collusion. Debated with financial analysts, litigators, and investigators on whether or not to prosecute. Researched how to leverage sanctions against government officials by extending the definition of “public official” to its legal limit.

Public Interest Fellow in Special Litigations at the Integrity Vice Presidency

Started a nonprofit to meet the special educational needs of immigrant children living in poverty. Raised funds by pitching around coffee tables, in conference rooms, and in classrooms. Created design-based thinking workshops for 60 children to drive curiosity and stimulate classroom engagement. Scaled one experimental teaching session to five impactful weekly workshops to better serve constituents. Moderated weekly roundtables with volunteer teams and partner organizations to gain honest feedback and assess how well we were meeting our goals.
