Steve Mennill is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in the world of finance and real estate. He is a graduate of the University of Toronto - Rotman School of Management, where he completed both the Directors Education Program and his MBA. Mennill also holds a Bachelor of Environmental Studies in Urban Planning from the University of Waterloo, as well as a Diploma in Urban Land Economics from The University of British Columbia.
Mennill's success as a leader is evident through his work as Senior Vice-President and Chief Climate Officer of the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) Société canadienne d'hypothèques et de logement(SCHL). He has served as Chief Risk Officer for the same company and was the Senior Vice-President of Mortgage Insurance before that. Mennill has also held several other roles with CMHC, including Senior Vice-President of Policy, Research and Planning, Executive Director of Policy and Research, and Director of Insurance Strategy, Product Development and Technology.
Mennill began his career as a Portfolio Management Analyst for affordable housing and default management at CMHC. He has also worked as a Senior Analyst in Mortgage Insurance and as a Senior Researcher studying housing affordability. Mennill also worked briefly at Weston Consulting as a Planner and has served as a Student Planner for the Housing Division of the City of London, Canada.
