Julie Kruse

Julie Kruse is a seasoned policy advocate with over two decades of experience promoting LGBT rights, tax fairness for working families, and economic and educational equity for women and girls. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Honors Biology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Master of Science in Education from Northwestern University. Throughout her career, Julie has held various leadership positions in organizations such as Family Equality Council, National Center for Healthy Housing, National Center for Transgender Equality, Immigration Equality, Servicemembers Legal Defense Network, Center for Economic Progress, Chicago Women In Trades, and Midwest Women's Center. She played a significant role in ending the ban on gays in the military and the Defense of Marriage Act's prejudicial impact on LGBT immigrants and their families. She has a proven track record of advocating for the rights of marginalized populations and achieving tangible policy outcomes that enhance the quality of life for all Americans.
