Aparna Gupta is a highly accomplished professional in the field of quantitative finance, risk management, and financial decision support. She received her Ph.D. in Computational Mathematics, Quantitative Finance from Stanford University, and her M.Sc. in Mathematics from Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. She has taught and developed courses on financial engineering and quantitative methods in finance at both the undergraduate and graduate level at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI). Additionally, she has taught short courses in Quantitative Finance in Lally School's international initiatives.

Throughout her career, Gupta's research has applied mathematical modeling and financial engineering techniques for risk management in technology-enabled services such as internet service provision, Future Internet design, wireless spectrum markets, and technology-enabled service contracts. She is a former A.W. Lawrence Professional Excellence Fellow, Professor of Quantitative Finance, Director of Financial Studies, Director of Quantitative Finance and Risk Analytics Program, Associate Professor of Quantitative Finance and Assistant Professor of Quantitative Finance at RPI. Gupta was also a former Director at the Center for Financial Studies at RPI and was an Affiliated Faculty at the Center for Financial Studies, RPI as well. Additionally, Gupta was a Visiting Researcher at U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and has served as Chair and Vice Chair of the Financial Services Section at INFORMS.
