The Coordinator for the Dosimetry (Radiation Monitoring Badges) Program for the Medical University of South Carolina (both University and Hospital sides).  Keep track of and update as needed the participants that require badges for radiation monitoring and take care of all the other details involved in the day to day dealings of said badges (additions, terminations, assigning spares, etc.).  Coordinate with the Badge Coordinators of the specific departments (Badge Series) to oversee proper application of radiation monitoring badges (i.e. proper wearing of the badge when in an area where there is radiation exposure; receipt of the badges on time to read the dose received; etc.).  Also calculate radiation doses for participants that lose or have an unreturned badge for specific monitoring periods.  Currently in the process of learning other job functions that pertain to Radiation Safety and will update my job description in the future.

As the Increased Controls Coordinator, I oversee the implementation of increased controls and securities for materials of concern as per the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC).  MUSC has agreed to and undergone the voluntary enhancement program that is offered by the NRC, the Global Threat Reduction Initiative (GTRI).  The GTRI program is sponsored by the Department of Energy's National Nuclear Security Administration and is supported by the NRC.  I coordinate with departments within the increased controls areas of the hospital to ensure that only essential personnel have access and with Public Safety to guarantee 24/7 monitoring of secured areas.

Student worker for the Biosystems Engineering department within the Environmental Engineering & Earth Sciences department at Clemson University.  I carried out general lab clean up and organization of the lab plus proper storage and disposal of any hazardous waste generated during lab procedures.  Also in charge of sorting and carrying off recycling weekly as well as setting up for student interest tours.  I sharpened my skills in communication, teamwork, and proper lab safety and procedures during my work here.

Worked in the stacks organizing and shelving returned books and worked in the atrium sorting and archiving the newspapers and periodicals.  Learned how to properly shelve according to the Dewey Decimal system and alphabetically.  Sharpened my skills in communication and teamwork during work.
