Responsibilities included defining our customer segments, identifying their current and future needs, articulating the vision and strategic roadmap for our comprehensive suite of T&E, Supplier payments, and lending products, product design and development, partnering with sales and marketing to bring products to market, on-going product management, risk management, partnership management and P&L management.  

Created commercial partnerships with Fintechs such as Bill.com, Lendio, TradeShift, and established companies such as Amazon, Intuit, SAP, Wex.

EVP - Global Product Management, Global Commercial Services

Led global team of 800+ employees responsible for two separate businesses.  Responsibilities for the American Express Global Network Business included setting policies, standards, specifications for all of our network key members (Issuers, Acquirers, Payment Ecosystem Partners), managing our core authorizations, clearing, and settlement payment network infrastructure and operations, creating and managing products such EMV, NFC, mobile wallets, fraud security solutions, and running our ATM business.  Also responsible for Accertify, our wholly owned subsidiary that provides fraud solutions to enterprise clients, include working with the leadership team to set the long term growth strategy, expanding our product set, and working across American Express to capitalize on synergies for distribution, client and risk management.

Led a global team of 500+ responsible for merchant acceptance coverage strategy, merchant customer experiences, sales enablement, sales training & effectiveness, payments consulting, merchant processing, data quality & policy, merchant payment products, platforms, and capabilities, business transformation, and strategic quality planning. Team is focused on delivering a consistent world class customer experience for all of our merchants, key members of the American Express network, to enable growth for all constituents.

SVP - Global Strategy & Capabilities, Global Merchant Services

Continued to be responsible for U.S. Consumer Strategy & Planning, and added responsibility for U.S. Marketing Services. U.S. Marketing Services is comprised of 200+ employees responsible for New Product Development, Marketing Operations, Bank & Regulatory support, Project Resource Team, and Business Transformation. These teams are focused on delivering best-in-class product development and marketing execution with operational excellence.

VP - Strategy & Marketing Services, U.S. Consumer Services

Served as Chief of Staff, and Head of Strategy & Planning, to the President of U.S. Consumer Services.  Responsibilities included developing vision, overall strategy, long range plan, investment and implementation roadmap, communication plan, and accountability for business growth objectives and financial outcomes.  Also responsible for defining and enabling the right mindset and behaviors to make our culture a strategic advantage.

VP - Strategy & Planning, Office of the President, U.S. Consumer Services

Led U.S. Consumer Proprietrary Lending Card portfolios and added responsibility for broadscale loyalty marketing for all US Consumer Cards.  Responsible for P&L Management, Customer Management & Loyalty Marketing, Product Development, Partnership Management, Marketing Strategy and Effectiveness.

VP/GM - U.S. Consumer Lending & Customer Marketing

Led U.S. Consumer Proprietary Lending Card portfolios (e.g. Blue, Blue Cash, Blue Sky, Optima, etc.).  Responsibilities include P&L Management, Customer Management & Loyalty Marketing, Product Development, and Partnership Management.  Led Pricing Strategy for all US Consumer Cards.  

Served as AXP representative at American Bankers Association (ABA), and worked closely with AXP Government Affairs to represent AXP with regulators (Federal Reserve, FDIC, OCC, CFPB) and Congress (House and Senate members)

VP/GM - U.S. Consumer Lending Product Management

Led several key Amex Co-Brand Card partnerships (e.g. Starwood, Hilton) and smaller portfolio relationships (e.g. BoH, BSB, ShopRite, Golf Card, Knot/Nest).  Responsibilities included P&L Management, Product Development, Customer Management & Loyalty Marketing, Partnerships Management. Also managed portfolio sales to external issuers, portfolio migrations, and contract re-negotiations.

VP - Co-Brand Card Product Management

Launched new Co-brand Card products, created and managed multi-channel acquisition programs.  Developed and negotiated new card distribution partnerships with external companies for proprietary non-co-brand products, created new customer marketing programs to support acquisition partnerships.
