In 2001 SPSS was in trouble.  SPSS established in 1969, was struggling financially, valued at less than its trailing 12 months revenue.  Our new management team created and validated a product strategy based on based on unique strengths in advanced analytics.  My marketing team created the definition, requirements to create the category known as  Predictive Analytics.  Our definition and descriptions are still used by IDC, Gartner and IBM.  The results, SPSS tripled its stock price and increased cash balances from $12 million to over one $120 million dollars in three years. SPSS was sold to IBM for $980 million dollars in 2009 at greater than a 3X multiple.Our Marketing organization successfully created the category for Prdictive Analytics and defined the  “Predictive Enterprise”.  Today, these concepts of are now being highlighted in today’s IBM’s Smarter Planet campaigns.●	Created new software category- Predictive Analytics. Arbors Software was a classic example of a hypergrowth startup phenomena built on solid product strategy, aggressive marketing and a world class sales organisation.  Chief Product Officer 1999-2001Reorganized and streamlined the development and product marketing efforts across Hyperion’s five separate business units with an integrated development and launch strategy.
