Drew served as President of Vision Systems International, LLC, (VSI) a Rockwell Collins joint venture with Elbit Systems of America, Inc from April 2007 to January 2012.  VSI is the world’s leader in development and production of Helmet Mounted Cueing Systems for fixed-wing military aircraft.  Under Drew’s leadership, VSI was awarded the initial production contract to produce and provide the helmet mounted display system (HMDS) for the F-35 Lighting II, Joint Strike Fighter. Additionally, VSI expanded into the light attack, trainer and transport aircraft markets, increased international sales dramatically and fielded several night vision cuing system offerings.Vision Systems International, LLC is an international joint venture between two leading aerospace competitors, Rockwell Collins Inc. and Elbit Systems, Ltd.

Took leadership of the US Navy's newest nuclear powered aircraft carrier during post acceptance retrofit, bringing to life the operational capabilities of the nation's largest and most technologically advanced naval asset.  Led and trained a staff of 176 officers, 3500 sailors and a 1500 personnel air wing.  Orchestrated and executed the highly successful relocation of over 1500 families; , prior to a historic carrier re-stationing, and first transit of the Straights of Magellan by a nuclear powered carrier. Established initial operational procedures to maximize cross-functional communication and coordination.  Instituted cost-savings management tools.  Results:  Highly successful, initial operational deployment.  Saved taxpayers $10M of first year's $125M operational budget while bringing all organizational capabilities on-line.Created an executive training program that was featured in the US Navy Times magazine due to its success Results: The program was implemented throughout the entire fleet, considerably improving leadership development.

Results:  The squadron received awards for safety, operations and performance excellence.
