A great reminder but very happy that our generation is ‘actually’ applying itself - just in a very intentional way which probably pisses a lot of people off. Let me explain…

Everyone around me I know is going all-in on the things they care about: building, investing, creating, researching. We’re not slacking. We’re just choosing our obsession more deliberately.

And honestly, one thing that has always stayed with me is something a therapist once told me: “If you’re making your body work, who is working for your body?” That hit me hard.

Because if you’re pushing your body to its limits and doing nothing to restore it, that’s not productivity - that’s eventually self-harm with a delayed consequence.

So yes, we work hard. But we’re also aware that our body is the foundation that lets us apply ourselves in the first place. Some days you sprint, some days you recover - that is passion. That is obsession. It doesn’t mean 70-hour weeks, it means knowing when to go deep and when to recharge so you can go deep again.

And honestly, that’s what I appreciate about our generation: we’re rejecting the idea that killing yourself for work is the only signal of ambition. We’re still building, we’re still committing for the long term - just without losing the one machine everything depends on.
