Theresa Maier

Dr. Theresa Maier is an impact-driven leader with a strong passion for healthcare innovation, social change, and public service. She is a global citizen with work experience spanning across 4 continents and has been recognized with over 50 international awards. Dr. Maier is bilingual in German and English and has a fair knowledge of French, Spanish, and Chinese.

Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Bioengineering from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), as well as studies at the University of Cambridge and the National University of Singapore. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Chemical Engineering, Philosophy, and Medicine from the University of Cambridge, and a Master's in Biophysics, Physics, and Philosophy from the same university.

Dr. Maier has held various key roles in organizations such as Novartis, where she served as the Chief of Staff to the President for Innovative Medicines and US Pharma. She also has experience as the Chief of Staff to the Global Head of Pharma Strategy and Commercial Execution at Novartis, along with managerial positions in global pharma strategy. Additionally, she has worked as an external consultant in biopharma innovation and entrepreneurship at the Merck Group.

Her professional journey includes roles such as Clinical Research Fellow at the Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Co-Founder, Executive Director, and Chief Executive Officer at Justmilk Limited, and Vice President, Project Manager, and Consultant at the Cambridge Consulting Network. Dr. Maier has also been involved in medical device innovation, research, and business development.
