    Dr. Roland B. Smith, Jr. is an accomplished professional with a diverse educational background and extensive experience in academia and organizational leadership.

    He earned his Ed.D. in Teaching, Curriculum, and Learning Environments/Qualitative Research Methods from Harvard Graduate School of Education, his M.P.A. in Public and Environmental Affairs from Indiana University South Bend, and his B.A. in Anthropology-Sociology from Bowie State University.

    Dr. Smith has been actively involved in several prestigious organizations, including serving as the Board Member, Charter President (2005-2009) at the American Association of Blacks in Higher Education, a Life Member at the Texas Association of Black Personnel in Higher Education, and the Past Chair, Board of Directors at the Life Gift Organ Donation Center.

    With a wealth of experience in higher education administration, Dr. Smith has held prominent roles such as the Associate Provost at Rice University and the Executive Assistant to the President at the University of Notre Dame.
