Matthew Lee
PhD Researcher
Dr. Matthew Lee is an AHRC-funded PhD researcher who focuses on studying Scotland's involvement in the Caribbean slave trade.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in History with First Class honors from the University of Strathclyde.
Dr. Lee completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Czech Language with Distinction and an MLitt in Scottish History with Distinction from the University of Glasgow.
Currently, he is associated as a PhD Researcher at the University of Aberdeen.
Prior to his current role, Dr. Lee has diversified experience, having worked as a Public Affairs Officer at E.ON UK, Senior Political Researcher at DeHavilland, and Senior Research Officer at Parliamentary Research Service.
He also served as a Parliamentary Assistant to Johann Lamont MSP and Rt. Hon. Thomas McAvoy MP, along with working as a Research Intern at Age Scotland.
