Eric Bucher

Dr. Eric Bucher is an assistant research professor with the Children's Equity Project (CEP) at Arizona State University and the Executive Director of the Arizona Association for the Education of Young Children (AzAEYC).1 He holds a Doctorate of Education in Leadership & Innovation from Arizona State University and has 16 years of experience in early childhood education.1

Dr. Bucher's work focuses on:

1. Developing strong early childhood leaders
2. Dismantling inequitable systems
3. Rebuilding anti-racist and anti-bias systems
4. Elevating voices of marginalized early childhood professionals1

His experience includes:

• Teaching children from birth to age 8
• Developing content for preschool programs at a science museum
• Designing professional development
• Managing local and national early childhood grants
• Leading in state and government agencies, including Head Start/Early Head Start
• Serving as a content expert for Arizona's Infant and Toddler Developmental Guidelines and Early Learning Standards1

Dr. Bucher is also a first-generation college graduate and has co-authored publications on infant and toddler STEAM education in NAEYC's peer-reviewed journal Young Children.1
