Alaa Qari

Dr. Alaa H. Qari is a dedicated dentist with a Doctoral Degree in Dental Public Health and specialization in Health Communication and Promotion.

Having completed her residency in Geriatric Dental Medicine at Boston University, she now serves as an Assistant Professor in Dental Public Health and the Chair of the Community Service Office at Umm Al-Qura University in Makkah.

An accomplished UNLEASH alumni, Dr. Qari actively contributes to innovative projects aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations.

She has collaborated on various initiatives with US and international organizations, focusing on telehealth engagement, mental health digitization, and teledentistry for enhanced public dental care access.

Dr. Alaa Qari's research proficiency extends to assessing mobile dental apps' quality and applying user-centered design principles to health technology development.

Passionate about enhancing community health, she continuously seeks innovative approaches to advance oral and overall health, aiming to make a positive impact on society.

Outside her professional commitments, Dr. Qari shares insights on UX design, education, and digital health via social media platforms like Twitter and Instagram.

Her contributions to organizations include roles such as Chair of The Community Service Office and Volunteering at Umm Al-Qura University, Faculty of Dentistry, and past affiliations with the American Mobile & Teledentistry Alliance, as well as UNLEASH - Innovation lab for SDGs.
