Douglas Jones

Douglas A. Jones is a Senior Staff member in the Human Health and Performance Systems Group at MIT Lincoln Laboratory.2 He holds a Ph.D. in linguistics from MIT, specializing in Hindi syntax, and BA and MA degrees in linguistics from Stanford University, focusing on computational phonology.12

Dr. Jones has been working at MIT Lincoln Laboratory since December 2001.2 His primary research area involves leveraging linguistic patterns for designing applied human language technology systems, with a particular focus on military standards of foreign language proficiency.2 He is working to develop common measures for both human language learners and machine translation technology to facilitate foreign language communication tasks.2
