    Doug Macnair recently retired as Vice President of Government Relations for the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) after a 21-year tenure. He was responsible for overseeing government relations, legislative affairs, aviation policy, and advocacy for over 250,000 EAA members and the recreational aviation community.

    Prior to his role at EAA, Doug held positions at the Professional Aviation Maintenance Association (PAMA) and the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA). He has a background as an aircraft mechanic, holds FAA airframe & powerplant mechanic and commercial pilot certificates, and has experience in aircraft certification, accident investigation, and environmental regulation.

    Doug Macnair is a graduate of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with a Bachelor's degree in Professional Aeronautics and has certification in Aviation Safety Program Management from the University of Southern California. He is known for his leadership in developing an alternative to leaded aviation gasoline.

    Outside of aviation, Doug is also a musician and sailor. He holds a U.S. Coast Guard Master's license and has captained commercial vessels on the Chesapeake Bay. Additionally, he is actively involved in his local fire department, holding various certifications in firefighting and emergency response.
