Doug Barbin

Doug Barbin is the President and National Managing Principal at Schellman, a leading provider of attestation and compliance services.13 He was appointed to this role in June 2023, having previously served as the National Managing Principal & Chief Growth Officer from 2021 to 2023.3

With over 25 years of experience in technology-focused services, Barbin is responsible for the strategy, development, growth, and delivery of Schellman's global services portfolio.2 He joined Schellman in 2009 and has been instrumental in expanding the firm's offerings beyond CPA assurance services, particularly in cybersecurity and compliance.1

Barbin holds dual bachelor's degrees in Accounting and Administration of Justice from Penn State University, as well as an MBA from Pepperdine University.13 He has also taken post-graduate courses on Artificial Intelligence from MIT.2

As a highly credentialed professional, Barbin maintains multiple CPA licenses and industry certifications, including CISSP, QSA, and ISO 27001 lead auditor.1 He was one of the first recipients of the Cloud Security Alliance's Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge (CCSK) and is recognized as one of the first true "cloud auditors" in the industry.1

Before joining Schellman, Barbin held senior leadership positions at VeriSign and PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he helped build the firm's first computer forensics practice.1 He is a frequent speaker on security and privacy implications of advanced technologies such as blockchain, identity, and artificial intelligence.1
