Currently serving as a Branch Manager and Participant Advocate at the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA), Donna leads a team devoted to empowering participants and ensuring their voices shape the agency's priorities and reform initiatives. She also holds the esteemed role of NDIA Disability Champion, actively representing the agency on various platforms that advance disability rights and inclusivity.
With a robust background encompassing over a decade of experience in customer advocacy and diversity and inclusion roles, Donna has been instrumental in fostering organizational and community changes across Australia, thereby fostering increased inclusion and accessibility for individuals with disabilities.
Donna Purcell is a recipient of the prestigious 2020 Churchill Fellowship, where she delved into global leadership, strategies, and cultural shifts aimed at supporting the employment of individuals with disabilities. Her commitment to amplifying the voices and experiences of people with disabilities is unwavering, with a focus on permeating all facets of society with their perspectives.
In addition to her role at NDIA, Donna serves as a board director of the Australian Network on Disability and the Jeffrey Bligh Foundation. Her prior engagements include chairing the NSW Disability Advisory Council, serving on the board of the Northcott Society, contributing as a member of the NSW TAFE Disability Review Reference Panel, and participating in the University of NSW Disability Innovation Institute from 2020 to 2023.
Donna has also lent her expertise to various initiatives, such as being an ambassador and spokesperson for the NSW Government's 'Don't Dis My Ability Campaigns' and serving on the boards of organizations like the NSW Centre for Volunteering and Radio 2RPH.
