Donald N. Mayes Jr. serves as the Deputy Equal Opportunity Director for the City of Phoenix, Arizona. He has extensive experience in diversity and inclusion, with over 35 years in the field. Mayes specializes in supporting small disadvantaged businesses in accessing public procurement opportunities. His career began at the Chicago Transit Authority, where he worked for 19 years advocating for these businesses. He later played a key role in restoring the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) and Airport Concessions DBE programs for the Massachusetts Port Authority.
