Don Honeycutt is the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and a member (partner) at Maple Technologies, LLC (Maple Tech), a New Jersey-based core administration platform provider for property and casualty (P&C) insurance companies.123

Key Responsibilities

As CTO, Don oversees the operations and technology architecture for Maple Tech's flagship product, the Aspire platform.2 His duties include:

• Managing cloud operations, FinOps, information security and compliance efforts2
• Coordinating the development of the rating and analytical subsystems of Aspire2
• Providing consulting expertise to many of Maple Tech's largest clients12

Background

Don concentrated on the IT industry early in his career, first focusing on software engineering and design in the finance arena before joining Maple Tech in 2002 as one of the primary architects of the Aspire Solution Suite.1 His talent for understanding and manipulating data led him to design and architect the R8 product, a proprietary insurance rating engine for commercial and personal lines insurance, for Maple Tech sister company, Maple Data Technologies.1

Prior to joining Maple Tech, Don led the creation of a robust technical backbone for a leading experimental finance research facility at Cornell University, where he also earned his B.A. degree in Physics with a minor in Computer Science.1

Recognition

Don's work on Maple Tech's Aspire Solution Suite has been recognized as cutting edge several times, including through a 2011 RAVE Award win for best-in-class technology by National Underwriter/Tech Decisions, and a 2012 Technology Firm of the Year award in the U.K.1
