Community Organizer

As an Engineering Manager at Oyster, I am responsible for managing a distributed team located across Europe, America, and Africa. My tasks include conducting 1:1s with my team members, providing career development support, planning and estimating project delivery, capacity planning, and collaborating with domain experts in several areas.

I am also actively involved in various initiatives at the company level and working to improve the team's processes. I work closely with Product Managers, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to scope projects, plan resources, and ensure the team's products maintain a high level of quality. In addition, I collaborate with other Engineering Managers to improve engineering department processes.

The team I lead is proficient in using various technologies such as Heroku, Ruby on Rails, React, and Typescript, and focuses on domains including IAM, Fraud prevention, Global Compensation, Internal Enablement, and the integration of services used by Customer Experience and Marketing.

Engineering Manager

As an Engineering Manager at Neonomics, I led the Platform Engineering Team and played a key role in the development and design of the company's main services. My achievements include:

- Designing high-level designs of the main services in collaboration with the Architecture Team
- Implementing a framework for leveraging technologies such as Kafka Connect, KStreams/KSQL, and Schema Registry to accelerate adoption of the Kafka ecosystem
- Planning and managing resource capacity across various platform services

As the Engineering Manager at Neonomics, I was responsible for leading the Market Expansion Team, which delivered market expansion of the Neonomics platform to banks across Europe. I managed and developed relationships with various stakeholders and presented to them, participated in strong engineering processes through code and architectural review, and helped improve the status reporting and code quality of the team. In addition, I was responsible for personnel development and career growth within the team, as well as identifying recruitment needs and collaborating with HR to hire multiple software engineers for various development teams. I also organized internal hackathons to improve the innovation culture within the company and worked to maintain high levels of teamwork and transparency with other development teams. Some of my notable achievements include:

- Leading a globally distributed engineering team and attracting, onboarding, and retaining top talent
- Improving our onboarding program to set new engineers up for success
- Coordinating the delivery and integration of our software services in multiple markets
- Organizing internal hackathons to improve innovation culture within the company
- Hiring multiple software engineers for various development teams
- Improving status reporting and code quality within the team.

As the Engineering Manager and Lead at Mercell Group, I was responsible for leading one of the core teams building the next-generation platform for tendering alerts and source-to-pay procurement solutions. Some of my achievements during this time include:

- Leading a development team focused on building a data-driven platform used for improving customer-facing products and internal business workflows
- Coaching teams in implementing effective deployment and configuration automation techniques
- Assisting with the career development of team members and holding weekly 1:1 meetings with each team member
- Increasing the size of the development team by 3x and improving team engagement with innovation days

My role involved organizing and facilitating a summer camp for startups, where I helped more than 20 startups build their products and provided them with free mentorship to help them succeed. I was passionate about helping startups grow and thrive, and I worked tirelessly to provide them with the resources and support they needed to achieve their goals. Tøyen Startup Summer Camp

As a Senior Software Engineer at Aller Media, I worked as a full-stack developer for the biggest news aggregator platform in Norway, as well as a mobile developer working on the iOS mobile app. Some of my key achievements in this role included:

- Demonstrating expertise in both front-end and back-end development
- Implementing micro-services for the news aggregator platform using Node.js and React.js
- Implementing the front-end of one of the most visited news sites in Norway using technologies like ReactJS and Redux

As a Senior Software Engineer at Webnodes AS, I was part of the core development team building an innovative Semantic CMS. Some of my key achievements in this role included:

I was able to effectively collaborate with my team to deliver successful projects and improve the functionality of the CMS for users.

Webnodes AS

As a Senior Software Engineer at Fronter AS, I was part of a core development team of 20 developers building one of the most used Learning Management Systems (LMS) in Europe. Some of my key achievements in this role included:

- Developing REST Services for the LMS, including system design, test coverage, and actual development using PHP, Python, and Javascript
- Gaining experience with source control tools like git
- Gaining experience working with relational databases and SQL

In this role, I utilized my technical skills in PHP, Javascript, SQL, microservices, and SOA architecture to make significant contributions to the development of the LMS. I was able to effectively collaborate with my team to deliver successful projects and improve the functionality of the LMS for users.

As Technical Team Lead at Thorvald Data, I led a team of 4 software engineers in delivering B2B software data analytics services built on top of OLAP cubes and data warehouses. My responsibilities included project management using SCRUM, as well as implementing various middleware and front-end modules for the data warehouse platform. My technical skills included expertise in C#, .NET MVC, and Javascript, as well as experience in Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Integration Services, and Microsoft Analysis Services.

Some of my key achievements in this role included:

- Successfully meeting all development deadlines
- Implementing a mobile-friendly version of the time registration web application using HTML, CSS, Javascript, and Google Gears
- Developing a budget software integrated with Microsoft Excel using Microsoft Workflow Foundation, Microsoft SQL Server, ERP Systems, .NET MVC, and C#

In this role, I was responsible for developing new Emergency Room services for nurses and doctors, which were used across multiple regions in Italy. I was promoted to this role after starting as a junior developer at the company.
