Doc Penguin, known as THE GREAT PENGUINO and Dr. Penguin, is a renowned comedy magician with a unique interactive style developed from studies with theater icons like Jacque Le Coq and Marcel Marceau in Paris and at La Mama in New York. After graduating from UC Santa Cruz in 1976, he embarked on a 6-month world tour that turned into a lifelong adventure.
His experiences at festivals and on the streets of Europe honed his skills in interacting across languages and cultures, leading to the creation of "The Magic Circus" which toured Europe, North Africa, and Asia. Dr. Penguin discovered his passion for anthropology and travel in Asia, where he deepened his understanding of ancient cultures and magic.
Beyond performing, Dr. Penguin is also involved in writing, directing, editing, and producing. He is known for his TV series "Dr. Penguin's Magical World" that aired in 25 countries, and his appearances on STAR TV's "Travel Asia and Beyond" which reached over 100 countries. Additionally, he has showcased his talents at prestigious events like the Olympics, for royalty, and alongside celebrities such as U2 and Michael Jackson.
Currently, Dr. Penguin is engaged in a new project titled "The Great Penguino (almost)", consisting of 52 silent yet hilarious episodes, in collaboration with producers like Jean Chalopin, Jeremy Zag, Lorne Michaels, and Rick Mayo-Smith. He serves as the Director at Dr. Penguin LTD.
