Dimitris Stavropoulos

Dimitris Stavropoulos is a highly accomplished professional with a diverse educational background and extensive experience in the fields of information security, cyber security, digital innovation, and risk management. He holds an MBA in 'Managing Information Security Risks in Global Financial Institutions' from the University of Leicester, a BSc in Business Administration with a focus on CIS from The American College of Greece, and has pursued additional studies at Papanoutseio.

Throughout his career, Dimitris has held prominent positions in leading financial institutions, showcasing his expertise and leadership capabilities. He currently serves as the Global Head of Digital and Innovation Risk Oversight at HSBC, where he is responsible for driving digital transformation and managing risks associated with innovation initiatives. Previously, he held key roles at both HSBC and Barclays, including Head of Information and Cyber Security Risk Controls and Policy at HSBC, Head of Central Information Risk Management at Barclays, and Head of Information Security Risk at Barclays.

Dimitris Stavropoulos has also contributed his skills and knowledge in various roles outside the banking sector. He has held positions at prestigious firms such as PwC, Standard Bank, Citigroup, Deloitte & Touche, ENCODE, KPMG, and Arthur Andersen, where he has honed his expertise in internal audit, compliance, technology infrastructure, and information security consulting.
