Dima Hadid

Dima M. Hadid is a Research Assistant and a PhD student in the Health Policy program at McMaster University, where she began her studies in September 2022 under the supervision of Dr. Meredith Vanstone. Her research focuses on the health decisions made by pregnant individuals during the COVID-19 pandemic, examining how these decisions vary by demographic and socioeconomic factors, as well as their associated health outcomes.12

Before joining McMaster, Dima worked for five years as a senior research assistant at the American University of Beirut Medical Center in Lebanon. Her previous research has been published in several prestigious journals and has primarily aimed at reducing health inequalities and enhancing patient care quality and safety.12 Dima holds a Bachelor's degree in Nutrition from the Lebanese American University and a Master's degree in Public Health from Nottingham Trent University, where she graduated with commendation and ranked second in her class. During her Master's program, she contributed to a health needs assessment for Black and Minority Ethnic populations in Nottingham, which informed local health strategies.13

In addition to her academic pursuits, Dima is recognized as a Queen Elizabeth Scholar, an award that supports her goal of improving evidence-informed policymaking in health systems.12
