Diego Berdakin

Diego Berdakin is a Los Angeles-based Internet entrepreneur, investor, and educator who serves as a Director on the board of the Los Angeles Police Foundation.1 He is the founder of the social commerce company BeachMint, which was later acquired by Condé Nast.1 Berdakin is also a notable investor in several technology companies, including Ring.com, Dropbox, and Postmates.1

As an educator, Berdakin holds the position of Chair of Technology, Media & Ethics at the University of Southern California (USC) and has been an adjunct professor at USC's School of Cinematic Arts since 2012.1 He is involved in studying the impact of fake news on public opinion.1

In terms of civic engagement, Berdakin is the main benefactor of USC School of Cinematic Art's Neighborhood Academic Initiative, supporting inner-city students' creative development.1 He is also a founding member of the Mayor's Fund for Los Angeles, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving life for all Angelenos.1

Berdakin's entrepreneurial ventures include co-founding CloudKitchens (initially called Urban Kitchen), which was later acquired by Travis Kalanick, the former CEO of Uber.1 The company has since raised significant funding and achieved high valuations.1
